TЕПЛИЧНOE РАСТЕНИЕ (hothouse plant), 2016

Installation. I spend two months in Yekaterinburg. I meet young men on my walks from the apartment to the studio. I ask them (and visitors as well) to bring houseplants to the Museum for the duration of the exhibition. Unique. Dimensions variable.

Wood panels, mirror silver vinyl film sheets, MDF, glass,
16 framed pigment prints on Fujicolor Crystal Archive, Velvet Type H,
1 latex inkjet print,
various potted plants on loan from the homes of different people I met during my two months residency in Yekaterinburg,
a humidifier turned on during the open hours of the museum,
a water spray bottle,
a stained cup of tea,
cigarettes of different brands asked from men in the street, in a glass,
fruits received from women working in kiosks in exchange for the cigarettes,
a page from a book,
a small bottle of vodka found in the trash and filled with the water from the museum,
and five rooster gzhel ceramic figurines purchased at a kiosk around the corner.
